Design and Detailing of RCC Tall Buildings

The course provides comprehensive, advanced training on the modeling, analysis, design, and detailing of high-rise reinforced concrete structures using ETABS, CSI SAFE, and manual calculations.
The Course contents are:
  • Tall Building Systems: Understanding Gravity (GLRS) and Lateral Load Resisting Systems (LLRS), including Moment Frames, Shear/Core Walls, Tube Systems, Outriggers, and Diagrids.
  • Advanced Wind & Seismic Loads: Calculation of static/dynamic wind forces, gust factors, wind tunnel outputs, seismic parameters (ESM & RSM), and an introduction to Performance-Based Design.
  • Specialized Analysis: Deep dive into construction stage analysis, backstay effects, axial shortening of vertical members, drift/displacement, and horizontal floor acceleration.
  • Element Design & Detailing: Comprehensive design of beams, columns, diaphragms, chords/collectors, transfer slabs/girders, coupling beams, basement walls, and raft/pile foundation systems.
  • Capstone Project: Practical application on a massive multi-tower structure with a common podium (Basement + G+50 Floors).
  • Code Provisions: Detailed discussion on IS16700:2023, IS456:2000, IS875-3:2015, IS1893-1:2016, IS13920:2016, and ASCE 7:22.
